Émile Zola   

(1840 – 1902)

Zola was also a politically activity figure in Paris. In 1898, he wrote an open letter to the President of the french Republic accusing the government of anti-semitism (this open letter, published on newspapers was titled, and is still know today as, "j'accuse" - I accuse)
